The New York City skyline with the Twin Towers is an unforgettable image to all who are familiar with that element of the city's history. Their presence was visible from miles away as they towered high above the surrounding cityscape.  One could take in a spectacular bird's-eye-view of multiple states from the upper floors on a clear day.  The World Trade Center towers were a symbol of cultural diversity as they were a focal point of international business.  On any given day, the massive skycrapers drew people from all corners of the globe.  It was a place for the transaction of business within the region as well as across the world.  The World Trade Center provided a source of livelihood for many and a place of leisure for many more. The Twin Towers were great in their visual enormity and perhaps even greater in their ability to unite people from across sea and land. The World Trade Center buildings were a significant cityscape landmark of downtown New York and the entire world has changed since their destruction.  This New York City Skyline Picture was shot in October 2000 as the setting sun cast its golden light over the city.
